ABOUT THE PUBLICATION

A field guide for real homes.

Leafy is an independent reference designed for plant owners in the Philippines. The idea is simple: identify the plant, observe where it will live, and choose a workable growing setup. We do not claim first-hand trials where none were conducted.

How references are made

Species descriptions begin with institutional botanical and extension material. A plant page links its principal source and distinguishes general horticultural guidance from site-specific observation. Common nursery names are not always exact botanical identifications. We avoid invented light thresholds, calendar-based watering prescriptions, universal climate assumptions and unsupported safety promises.

Why Philippine conditions matter

A naturally ventilated room, an air-conditioned bedroom, a sheltered veranda and a wind-exposed balcony are different environments. PAGASA describes regional rainfall variation; no single national watering calendar follows from that information.

Images and rights

Every profile cites a genuine botanical source and links to an original reference photograph with file-page and license attribution. Until the local photograph is bundled, a clearly labeled editorial illustration is displayed instead; it must not be used for identification. AI-assisted editorial scenes and original explanatory diagrams are distinct from species photographs. For image licensing details, see photo credits.

Corrections and commercial independence

We document sources and keep retailer mentions separate from botanical fact. No current merchant link should be interpreted as a paid partnership. See our disclosure. Corrections can be sent to hello@leafy.ph.
